２ペテロ１章

1:1  シメオン・ペテロ、イエス・キリストの奴隷にして使徒から、わたしたちの神と救主イエス・キリストとの義によって、わたしたちと同じ尊い信仰を授かった人々へ。

1:2  恵みと平安とが、神とわたしたちの主イエスとの知識のうちに、あなたがたに豊かに加わるように。

1:3  彼の神聖な力によって、いのちと敬虔とにかかわるすべてのことがわたしたちに授けられています。それは、栄光と徳とによって、わたしたちを召されたかたを知る知識によるのです。

1:4  また、それらによって、非常に偉大で、尊い約束が、わたしたちに与えられました。それは、これらのことによって、この世にある欲のために滅びることを逃れて、あなたがたが、神の性質にあずかる者となるためです。

1:5  このゆえにこそ、力の限りをつくして、あなたがたの信仰に徳を、また徳に知識を、

1:6  知識に自制を、また自制に忍耐を、忍耐に敬虔を、

1:7  敬虔に兄弟への思いやりを、兄弟に対する思いやりに、愛を加えなさい。

1:8  これらのものをあなたがたの内に保ち、さらに豊かになっているならば、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストを知る知識について、あなたがたは、実を結ばない者、不毛な者となることはないからです。

1:9  なぜなら、これらのものを備えていない者は、盲人であり、自分の以前の罪がきよめられたことを忘れている近視の者です。

1:10  それだから、兄弟たちよ。あなたがたの受けた召しと選びとを、確かなものにすることに、ますます励みなさい。というのは、これらの事をしているなら、あなたがたは決してつまずくことはないからです。

1:11  なぜなら、このようにしている時には、わたしたちの主であり、救主イエス・キリストの永遠の国に入ることが、あなたがたに豊かに与えられるからです。

1:12  それだから、わたしは、これらのことをいつも、あなたがたに思い起させることを怠るわけにはいきません。あなたがたはこれらのことを知っており、また、現に、その真理に堅く立っているのです。

1:13  そうです。わたしがこの幕屋にいるかぎりは、あなたがたに思い起させることによって、奮い立たせることが正しいと思っているのです。

1:14  それは、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストもわたしに示して下さったように、わたしのこの幕屋を脱ぎ去る時が間もなくであることを知っているからです。

1:15  しかし、わたしはこれらのことを、わたしが去った後にも、あなたがたにいつも思い出させるように努めます。

1:16  なぜなら、わたしたちは巧みな作り話を用いて主イエス・キリストの力と来臨とを、あなたがたに知らせたのではありません。わたしたちが、そのご威光の目撃者なのだからです。

1:17  なぜなら、彼は父なる神からほまれと栄光とをお受けになりましたが、その時、最も優れた栄光の中から次のようなみ声がかかったのです、「これはわたしの愛する子、わたしの心にかなう者である」。

1:18  また、わたしたちも彼に伴って聖なる山にいた時、天から出たこの声を聞いたのです。

1:19  また、そのようにして、わたしたちは、暗やみに輝くともしびを、夜が明けまで、すなわち、明星があなたがたの心にのぼるまで、心にこれをとめることは良いことだという、預言の言葉がさらに確かにされたのです。

1:20  あなたがたは、第一にこのこと、すなわち、すべての聖書の預言は、自分勝手に解釈すべきでないことを知っていなさい。

1:21  なぜなら、預言は決して人間の意志から出たのではなく、神の聖なる人々が、聖霊によって動かされたとおりに語ったものだからです。

2Pe 1:1  Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of our God and our Savior Jesus Christ,

2Pe 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,

2Pe 1:3  according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue,

2Pe 1:4  through which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

2Pe 1:5  But also in this very thing, bringing in all diligence, filling out your faith with virtue, and with virtue, knowledge;

2Pe 1:6  and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control, patience, and with patience, godliness,

2Pe 1:7  and with godliness, brotherly kindness, and with brotherly kindness, love.

2Pe 1:8  For if these things are in you and abound, they make you to be neither idle nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Pe 1:9  For he in whom these things are not present is blind and cannot see afar off and has forgotten that he was purged from his sins in the past.

2Pe 1:10  Therefore, brothers, rather be diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you do these things, you shall never fall.

2Pe 1:11  For so an entrance shall be ministered to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

2Pe 1:12  Therefore I will not neglect to put you always in remembrance of these things, though you know them and are established in the present truth.

2Pe 1:13  But I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by a reminder,

2Pe 1:14  knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is soon, as indeed our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

2Pe 1:15  And I will also be diligent to cause you to always have memory of these things after my departure.

2Pe 1:16  For not having followed fables having been cunningly devised, but becoming eyewitnesses of the majesty of Jesus Christ, we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord.

2Pe 1:17  For He received honor and glory from God the Father, when was borne to Him a voice from the excellent glory, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

2Pe 1:18  And we heard this voice being borne from Heaven, being with Him in the holy mountain.

2Pe 1:19  We also have a more sure Word of prophecy, to which you do well to take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Daystar arises in your hearts,

2Pe 1:20  knowing this first, that no prophecy of the Scripture came into being of its own private interpretation.

2Pe 1:21  For prophecy was not borne at any time by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke being borne along by the Holy Spirit.
