１ペテロ４章（欽定訳聖書）
4:2 それは、彼がもはや人間の強い欲情のためではなく、神の[3]御旨のため（喜ばれるため）に肉における残りの生涯を過ごすためです。
4:3 というのは、過ぎ去った時代には、[4]わたしたちは、異邦人の好みにまかせて、好色、欲情、酔酒、宴楽、暴飲、忌まわしい偶像礼拝の中で過ごしてきたからです。
4:4あなたがたが、彼らと一緒にそうした放蕩の[5]氾濫に走らないことについて、彼らは奇妙に思い、悪口を言っています。
4:5 彼らは、やがて生ける者と死ぬぶきに者とをさばく準備をしているかたに、申し開きをしなくてはなりません。

4:7 万物の終りが近づいています。ですから、健全に目を覚まして祈りなさい。
4:8 何よりもまず、あなたがた自身の間で、熱烈に愛し合いなさい。なぜなら、愛は多くの罪をおおうものだからです。
4:9 互いに歓待し合いなさい。不平を言っていてはいけません。
4:10 あなたがたは、それぞれ賜物を受けているのですから、神の多様な恵み（を司る）の良き世話人として、それをお互のために果たしなさい。
4:11 もし、誰かが語るなら、神の御言として[6]語り、もしだれかが奉仕するなら、神が備えてくださった能力があるものとしてしなさい。それは、すべてのことにおいてイエス・キリストによって、神に栄光が帰されるためです。その方に、栄光と力とが永遠に、限りなくありますように、アァメン。
4:12 愛せられる人たちよ。あなたがたを試そうする火のような試錬を、妙なことがあなたがたに起ったかのように驚いていてはいけません。

4:13 むしろ、キリストの苦しみにあずっている者として喜んでいなさい。それは、彼の栄光が現れる際に、あなたがたも、非常なよろこびにあふれるためです。
4:15 しかし、あなたがたのうち誰も、人殺し、盗人、[9]悪を行う者、また、他人に干渉する者として苦しみを受けることがないようにしなさい。
4:16 しかし、もし誰かがクリスチャンとして苦しみを受けるのであれば、彼は恥じることはありません。かえって、[10]この事によって神をあがめなさい。
4:17 なぜなら、さばきが神の家から始められる時がきたからです。しかし、それがもし、わたしたちからまず始められるとしたら、神の福音に従っていない人々の終わりは、どんなでしょうか。
4:18 また義人がもしかろうじて救われるのだとすれば、不信なる者や罪人は、どうなるでしょうか。
4:19 だから、神の御旨に従って苦しみを受けている人々は、善をおこないつつ、誠実な創造者に、自分のたましいをゆだねていなさい。

1Pe 4:3 For the time of life which is past is enough for us to have worked out the will of the nations, having gone on in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, parties, carousings, and abominable idolatries.

1Pe 4:5 But they shall give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
1Pe 4:6 For to this end the gospel was preached also to the dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the Spirit.
1Pe 4:7 But the end of all things has drawn near. Therefore be of sound mind, and be sensible to prayers.
1Pe 4:8 And above all things have fervent love to yourselves, for love will cover a multitude of sins.
1Pe 4:9 Be hospitable to one another, without grudging;
1Pe 4:10 each one as he received a gift, ministering it to yourselves as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
1Pe 4:11 If anyone speaks, let it be as the words of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as of the ability which God gives, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory, and the might forever and ever. Amen.
1Pe 4:12 Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though a strange thing happened to you,
1Pe 4:13 but rejoice according as you are partakers of Christ's suffering, so that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy.
1Pe 4:14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you. Truly according to them, He is blasphemed, but according to you He is glorified.
1Pe 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or a meddler in the affairs of others.
1Pe 4:16 But if one suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God because of this.
1Pe 4:17 For the time has come for the judgment to begin from the house of God. And if it first begins from us, what will be the end of those disobeying the gospel of God?
1Pe 4:18 And if the righteous one is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
1Pe 4:19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls in well-doing, as to a faithful Creator.
