ヨハネの第１の手紙３章

3:1  父がわたしたちをどんなに愛して下さったので、わたしたちが神の子と呼ばれているのか、よく考えてみなさい！[1]世がわたしたちを知らないのは、父を知らなかったからです。

 3:2  愛せられる者たちよ。今やわたしたちは神の子です。しかし、わたしたちがどうなるのか、まだ明らかではありません。しかし、彼が現れる時、わたしたちは、彼に似るものとなることを知っています。[2]なぜなら、彼を目の当たりに見るからです。

 3:3  また、誰でも、すべてこの望みを彼によって持っている者は、彼がきよくあられるように、自らをきよくしています。

3:4  すべて罪を犯している者は、不法を行っている者です。そして、罪は不法です。

 3:5  あなたがたは、彼がわたしたちのもろもろの罪をとり除くために現れたことを知っています。彼のうちには何の罪もありません。

3:6  すべて彼にとどまっている者は、罪を犯していません。すべて罪を犯している者は彼を見たことがなく、また、知らなかったのです。

3:7  小さな子たちよ。[3]だれも惑わされないようにしなさい。義を行っている者は、彼が義人であるのと同様に、義人です。

3:8  罪を犯している者は、悪魔に属している者です。悪魔は初めから罪を犯しているからです。神の子が現れたのは、悪魔のわざを滅ぼためです。

3:9  すべて神から生れた者は、罪を犯し続けません。なぜなら、彼の種が、その人のうちにとどまっているからです。彼は、罪を犯し続けることができません。神から生れた者だからです。

3:10  つぎのことによって神の子と悪魔の子との区別は、明らかです。誰でも、義を行っていない者は、神に属していません。また、兄弟を愛していない者もそうです。

3:11  なぜなら、わたしたちが互いに愛し合うべきこと、これこそが、あなたがたが初めから聞いていた使信だからです。

3:12  カインのように悪しき者に属する者になってはいけません。彼はその兄弟を殺しました。なぜ兄弟を殺したのですか。彼の行いは悪く、彼の兄弟の行動が正しかったからです。

 3:13  [4]わたしの兄弟たちよ。もし、世があなたがたを憎んでいるとしても、驚いていてはいけません。

 3:14  わたしたちは、死からいのちへ移ってきたことを、知っています。なぜなら、[5]わたしたちは兄弟を愛しているからです。愛していない者は、死のうちにとどまっているのです。

 3:15  すべて[6]自分の兄弟を憎んでいる者は、人殺しです。そして、あなたがたは、だれでも人殺しのうちには、その人のうちに永遠のいのちがとどまっていないことを知っています。

3:16  このことによって、わたしたちは愛を知っています。すなわち、[7]彼が、わたしたちのために、ご自分の[8]いのちを捨てて下さったからです。ですから、わたしたちも、兄弟のためにいのちを捨てるべきです。

 3:17  [9]だれでも、この世の富を持っているのに、自分の[10]兄弟に必要があるのをわかっていながら心を[11]彼に対して心を閉ざしている者に、どうして神の愛が彼のうちにとどまっていますか。

3:18  [12]わたしの小さな子たちよ。わたしたちは言葉をもって、又は、舌をもって愛するのではなく、行いと、真実をもってしましょう。

 3:19  これによって、わたしたちが真理に属している者であることを知り、また、[13]彼のみまえに私たちの確信をもつのです。

 3:20  なぜなら、もし、わたしたちの心がわたしたちを責めることがあっても、神はわたしたちの心よりも大いなるかたであって、すべてを知っておられるからです。

 3:21  愛せられる人よ。わたしたちの心が、もしわたしたちを責めることがなければ、わたしたちは神に対して確信を持っているのです。

 3:22  そして、何でも願い求めているものを彼からいただけます。わたしたちが彼の戒めを守っており、かつ、[14]彼の目に[15]喜ばれることを、行っているからです。

3:23  そして、彼の戒めはこれです。すなわち、御子イエス・キリストの御名を[16]わたしたちが信じ、また、[17]彼がわたしたちに下さった戒めのように、互に愛し合うべきことです。

3:24  また、その戒めをたもっている人は、[18]彼にとどまっており、彼もまたその人にとどまっておられます。またわたしたちは、彼がわたしたちに賜わった御霊によって、彼がわたしたちうちにとどまっておられることを知っているのです。

 3:1  Behold what manner of love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God. Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

 3:2  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be. But we know that when He shall be revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

 3:3  And everyone who has this hope on him purifies himself, even as that One is pure.

 3:4  Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness, for sin is lawlessness.

 3:5  And you know that He was revealed that He might take away our sins, and in Him is no sin.

 3:6  Everyone who abides in Him does not sin. Everyone who sins has not seen Him nor known Him.

 3:7  Little children, let no one deceive you. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as that One is righteous.

 3:8  He who practices sin is of the Devil, for the Devil sins from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was revealed, that He might undo the works of the Devil.

 3:9  Everyone who has been born of God does not commit sin, because His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

 3:10  In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the Devil: everyone not practicing righteousness is not of God, also he who does not love his brother.

 3:11  For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;

 3:12  not as Cain who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. And for what did he kill him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's things were righteous.

 3:13  Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you.

 3:14  We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love his brother abides in death.

 3:15  Everyone hating his brother is a murderer. And you know that no murderer has everlasting life abiding in him.

 3:16  By this we have known the love of God, because He laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

 3:17  But whoever has this world's goods and sees his brother having need, and shuts up his bowels from him, how does the love of God dwell in him?

 3:18  My children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

 3:19  And in this we shall know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him,

 3:20  that if our heart accuses us, God is greater than our heart and knows all things.

 3:21  Beloved, if our heart does not accuse us, we have confidence toward God.

 3:22  And whatever we ask, we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

 3:23  And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

 3:24  And he who keeps His

commandment dwells in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit which He gave to us.

ヨハネの第二の手紙

　 1:1  長老から、選ばれた婦人とその子たちへ。わたしは真実にあなたがたを愛しています。また、わたしばかりではなく、真理を知った者はみなそうです。

　 1:2  それは、わたしたちのうちにとどまっており、また、永遠にわたしたちと共にある真理によるからです。

　 1:3  恵み、あわれみ、また平安が、父なる神、そして父の御子、[1]主イエス・キリストから、真理と愛のうちにあって、[2]あなたがたと共にあるように。

　 1:4  わたしはあなたの子供たちのうちの数人が、わたしたちが父から受けた戒めのとおりに、真理のうちを歩いている者があるのを見て、非常に喜んでいます。

　 1:5  さてわたしはあなたに懇願します。婦人よ。わたしがあなたに新しい戒めを書いたのではなく、初めから私たちが持っていた戒めです。それは、わたしたちが、互に愛し合うことです。

　 1:6  これが愛です。すなわち[3]わたしたちが彼の戒めにしたがって歩いて行くことです。これが戒めです。それは、あなたがたが初めから聞いてきたとおりに、それ（愛）のうちを歩くべきことです。

　 1:7  なぜなら、多くの惑わす者が出てきて、世にはいってきたからです。彼らは肉体をとってこられたイエス・キリストを告白していません。これは、惑わす者であり、反キリストです。

　 1:8  あなたは、[4]自分自身によく注意していなさい。それは、わたしたちが働いてきたものを失わずに、十分に報いを受けられるためです。

　 1:9  誰でもキリストの教えを超えて、とどまっていない者は、神を持っていません。その教えにとどまっている者は、父を持ち、また御子をも持っています。

　 1:10  もし、だれでも、あなたがたのところに来ているもので、この教を持っていないなら、その人を家に受け入れることも、あいさつもしてはいけません。

　 1:11  そのような者にあいさつする人は、その者の悪い行いを共にしていることになるからです。

　 1:12  わたしがあなたがたに書くことがたくさんありますが、紙とインクとで書こうとは願っていません。むしろ、あなたがたのところに行き、顔と顔を合わせて語り合うことを願っています。それは、わたしたちの喜びが十分でありたいからです。

　 1:13  選ばれたあなたの姉妹の子供たちが、あなたによろしくと言っています。 アァメン。

2 John 1

 1:1  The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,

 1:2  for the sake of the truth dwelling in us, and which shall be with us forever.

 1:3  Grace will be with you, mercy and peace from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

 1:4  I rejoiced greatly that I found your children walking in truth, as we have received command from the Father.

 1:5  And now I beseech you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

 1:6  And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

 1:7  For many deceivers have entered into the world, who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the anti-christ.

 1:8  Look to yourselves, so that we may not lose those things which we worked out, but that we may receive a full reward.

 1:9  Everyone transgressing and not abiding in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son.

 1:10  If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, nor speak a greeting to him.

 1:11  For he who speaks a greeting to him is partaker of his evil deeds.

 1:12  Having many things to write to you, I do not want to say with paper and ink. But I trust to come to you and speak face to face, so that our joy may be full.

 1:13  The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.

　 1:1  長老から、[1]愛せられるガイオへ。わたしの真実に愛している者へ。

　 1:2  愛せられる者よ。あなたがすべてのことに栄え、また健康であるようにと、わたしは祈っています。ちょうど、あなたのたましいがいつも栄えているようにです。

　 1:3  というのは、わたしは、兄弟たちがきて、真理にあってあかししてくれたこと、すなわち、あなたが真理のうちに歩んでいることを、大変に喜んでいるからです。[2]

　 1:4  わたしは、わたしの子供たちが真理のうちを歩いていることを聞くならば、それ以上に大きい喜びはありません。

　 1:5  愛せられる者よ。あなたは、何事でも、兄弟たちに対しても、また、旅行者たちに対しても真実をもってしています。

　 1:6  彼らは、あなたの愛について諸教会であかしをしました。あなたが神のみこころにかなうように彼らを旅に送り出しているなら、それは良いことです。

　 1:7  彼らは、諸国民からは何も受けずに、彼の御名のために出てきた者だからです。

　 1:8  それだから、わたしたちは、こういう人々を[3]受け入れなければなりません。それは、わたしたちも真理のための同労者となるためです。

　 1:9  わたしは教会に書きましたが、みんなのかしらになりたがっているデオテレペスが、わたしたちを受けいれません。

　 1:10  ですから、わたしが、もしそちらへ行ったならば、彼が口ぎたなくわたしたちをののしり、それだけでも足りずに、自分自身も兄弟たちを受けいれず、受けいれようとする人たちを禁じて、教会から追い出すなどの彼のしわざを彼に思い起こさせましょう。

　 1:11  愛せられる者よ。悪を手本にしていないで、善を手本にしていなさい。善を行っている者は神に属している者であり、悪を行っている者は神を見たことのない者です。

　 1:12  デメテリオについては、すべての人も、また真理そのものも、証明しています。わたしたちも証ししています。そして、あなたがたは、わたしたちの証明が真実であることを知っています。

　 1:13  わたしはあなたに書かなければならないことがたくさんあります。しかし、インクと筆とで書くことは願っていません。

　 1:14  それよりも、すぐにでもあなたに会って、顔を合わせて語り合いたいものです。

 (1:15) 平安が、あなたにあるように。わたしたちの友人たちから、あなたによろしく。名前に従って、友人たちひとりびとりに、よろしく。

 1:4  I have no greater joy than these things, to hear that my children walk in the truth.

 1:5  Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you work for the brothers and for strangers,

 1:6  who in love bore witness of you before the church, whom you will do well to send forward worthily of God;

 1:7  because they went forth for His name's sake, taking nothing from the nations.

 1:8  Therefore we ought to entertain such, so that we might be co-workers in the truth.

 1:9  I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, did not receive us.

 1:10  Therefore if I come, I will remember his deeds which he does, ranting against us with evil words. And not content with these, neither does he himself receive the brothers. And he forbids those who would, and casts them out of the church.

 1:11  Beloved, do not imitate the bad, but the good. He who does good is from God, but he who does evil has not seen God.

 1:12  Demetrius has good report by all, and by the truth itself. And we also bear witness, and you know that our witness is true.

 1:13  I had many things to write, but I will not write to you with pen and ink,

 1:14  but I trust I shall shortly see you, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to you. The friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.
